Most common is charcoal firm foam will hole up to 100 lbs. and is a little soft to the touch, yet firm. Your pet paws should only compress into the foam about 1/2" to 1" in a spread-out area. This foam looks and feels like a couch cushion but firmer and comes in a charcoal color. A cover is best to prevent wear and tear around the edges if it is moved from place to place.
For a more durable firm product the 1.5 lbs white polystyrene is best because it hold up to 200 pounds.
